Chambless Hall - August Business Spotlight
Introduction and Background:
Can you provide a brief overview of your business and its history?
Chambless Hall Design + Construction is a residential remodeling company. We have been in business since 2008 and serving Walton County for the last 10 years. We provide turn key design and construction services to our clients.
Products/Services:
What products or services does your business offer?
We do whole home interior and exterior remodeling as well as kitchen and bath remodeling. We offer engineering, architecture and interior design services as part of our process.
How do your offerings meet the needs of the community?
Home remodeling projects are major investments into our client’s homes. People in our community are looking for professional guidance not only on construction but design, architecture and interiors. We can offer them all those services at one time with a holistic approach to each project.
Community Involvement:
How is your business involved in the local community?
We live and work in the Walton community. We are invested in our local cities and local schools public and private. We love supporting the communities through local non-profits, career events for students and participating in as many Chamber events as possible.
Have you been part of any notable community initiatives or events?
I had the honor of being part of Leadership Walton Class of 2024. It was an amazing experience. I created the most amazing friendships and learned so much about the inner workings of our county and cities. I have such a great appreciation for what our county offers and the amazing place this is to raise our children!
Success Stories:
Can you share a success story or memorable customer experience?
We do a lot of Aging-in-Place design. This is where we remodel a space with design elements and features to allow the owner to live independently in their home for as many years as possible. These are some of our most memorable projects. We’ve had several bathrooms we completed where the owner was very emotional at the completion of the project. They always seem so relieved when they see the new space. They have beautiful and functional spaces that work even if they need a walker or wheel chair in the future. Those projects are my favorite!
How have your products or services positively impacted customers?
With every project we create beautiful, functional spaces that change the way our clients live in their homes. We create spaces that allow them to entertain during the holidays and enjoy their home on a daily basis. Our clients also have a positive experience during the design and construction project. Our expertly crafted process ends the project on time and on budget, which is a huge benefit to all our clients.
Challenges and Solutions:
What challenges has your business faced, and how have you overcome them?
After COVID the housing and construction markets boomed and many companies like mine ramped up to handle a lot of new business. In 2023 the housing and construction markets slowed dramatically. After using the same business model for 11 years, we changed our model and the way we offer all our services beginning this year. It has been a big success. Our clients have responded well to it and we are thankful!
Are there specific strategies that have helped you navigate challenges?
I always surround myself with great business coaches and very smart and successful business owners. I recommend to any business owner to find a great coach to learn from!
Future Plans:
What are your business' future plans or upcoming projects?
We have some great projects we are currently working on that will take us through to the end of the year. We are continuing to refine our new processes and just keep making our client experience better and better!
Chamber Benefits:
How has being a chamber member benefited your business?
Being a chamber member gives me the opportunity to stay connected to the community. I love the monthly luncheons where I can connect with other members and stay informed on everything going on in the county!
Advice:
What advice would you give to someone starting a business in our community?
I highly recommend getting involved in chamber events and get out and meet lots of people. There are so many great opportunities to share with others about your business and learn about others as well.
Are there some key lessons you've learned as a business owner?
I have learned to stay in business long term, you have to be able to change as the world changes. Most importantly I have learned to surround yourself with like minded business owners and work together to make your business better.
Fun Fact:
Share a fun or interesting fact about your business or team.
During college my friend came to my apartment to help me re-arrange my living room furniture. After trying to figure out how to arrange it, I decided I would change my major to Interior Design. I had no idea how my career would develop after that day! Sometimes the smallest things can change the trajectory of our lives!
